The Poland-based 3D printer manufacturer ZMorph has literally been bridging people together with a number of digital fabrication technologies, particularly with 3D printing. Known for their uniquely styled hybrid 3D printers, which includes 12 interchangeable toolheads that allow for 3D printing, CNC milling, laser engraving, and much more, ZMorph is now cultivating an even wider reach with their newly announced ZMorph 2.0 SX Multitool 3D Printer, their latest multifunctional fabrication device. According to ZMorph, the 2.0 SX is their most advanced and accessible machine to date, and is set to create the new standard for 3D printing technology.
The ZMorph 2.0 SX includes some new and improved features to enhance the multitool experience; this includes a Closed Loop System, which helps to control the exact position of the motors and extruder head, while also recalculating any missed steps in the process to increase reliability. ZMorph has also enhanced their UI by implementing a full-color LCD Touchscreen that is both accessible and intuitive, giving users much more control over the additive or subtractive printing process.
Not only has ZMorph improved the inner functioning of their multitool 3D printers, they've also engineered the structural components from machined and cut metal parts, now only using plastic parts for less important components. Another change with the 2.0 SX, which is meant to enhance safety and stability, is the fully enclosed print environment. Lift-off covers will still allow users to get involved with a more hands-on approach.
Although ZMorph has already established themselves as the multi toolhead printing pioneers, the 2.0 SX will allow for both backwards compatibility with existing extruders, as well as additional features for forward compatibility too, such as the new expansion slot on the X-Carriage. Lastly, their new rapid worktable change latches will provide users with quick interchanging of toolheads, without any need for re-calibration or inconvenient struggle.
The ZMorph 2.0 SX will offer a lot of bang for its buck, priced at 2390 EUR and $2690 USD. The new printer will come equipped with a 1.75 mm plastic extruder and a CNC PRO milling toolhead, setting a new standard for digital fabrication in the workshop, office, or in your very own home.
